Allison Callis Sr. Vice President, Local Ad Networks "These local ad networks, for me, means the ability to not only connect small business with actual consumers and meet their targets, but the ability to sometimes pay the same small businesses or important community organizations for allowing us to leverage their web traffic.
I was sitting in a governing board meeting of my (now) 10 year old's public school district. I watched them vote to cut $6 million off the budget. This meant cutting important developmental programs, like sports, music, theater and the like. It was personal to me, because we could help. I couldn't recoup the loss of $6 million, but we could contribute enough money to provide 12 new computers to learning labs in the same school district last year. This is why it is more than a marketing strategy to me; this is investing in my community." |
Allison Callis started her career in the motion picture industry and after a successful tenure, she transitioned into the online space as a Producer at a Los Angeles-based software and web development company in the early 90’s.
She was the team Producer for Infinite Access, a company that set the standard for credit card processing online. The company was part-owned by one of the foremost experts and leaders in the Online Advertising space, Jeff Eisenberg.
She left Infinite Access to take a position of the Regional Sales Manager for DW publishing, whose holdings included a large niche magazine and web site franchise in the Real Estate space. She worked with DW publishing increasing their visibility and sales over 600% in less than 3 years, while maintaining a 6 million dollar advertising list of her own.
Allison, her husband and their two boys moved to Tucson from Los Angeles in 2007 to establish a bit slower pace and better foundation for their children’s futures. She took a management position at KVOA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Tucson, as Director of Online Strategies and Internet Sales Manager. She led the sales unit to a 145% increase in less than three years. Allison took their core news-related website to the highest trafficked broadcast news site in the community and established the first Local Ad Network (LAN) in America, the beta test referenced in this business plan. Allison worked closely with AR&D to successfully deploy the Local Ad Network in Tucson and was asked to join their team in this new venture. She will take a lead role as Senior Vice President of the LAN venture and continue to grow the business model in a nationwide endeavor.
